Also, I would like those who follow to know what really happened so they don’t believe the many fictional accounts recorded by Mr. Halberstam. I have found that, in checking Mr. Halberstam’s references to other publications, what is written there is often in error. In the case of the Korean War, many authors refer to the official Army Historian for the Korean War, Roy Appleman. What he wrote, in many instances does not agree with primary documents in Divisional, Regimental and Battalion War Diaries and in Unit Histories and chronological logs maintained by Division, Regiment and Battalion.

Halberstam to writings by other authors, such as Roy Appleman, Clay Blair, T. R. Fehrenbach, Kenneth Hamburger, Keyes Beech and Max Hastings, I have found that some of the writings by these authors are proven erroneous by records on file at the National Archives and Records Administration! J. Fehrenbach, Kenneth Hamburger and Max Hastings. In many cases, their writings do not agree with information in Unit War Diaries and Unit logs. I will attempt to note each of those discrepancies as I come across them.

When they arrived, he positioned them at several points around the building and told the occupants (through an interpreter) that if they were not out of the building in five minutes, he would have the tanks destroy the building.
