Work–life balance is another important area in which a clinically oriented coach can provide insights. Here again the challenge is complex: how can the executive explain, and then change, inefficient working patterns? What are the current professional and personal priorities, and what are the alternatives?

They have shown that they want to develop their leadership skills, and that they are willing to take advice to heart. The problem, for many of them, is that they recognize their weaker areas but do not know what they can do about them. They may be aware of their specific strengths, but hesitate to capitalize on them.
