The more you birdwatch, the easier it becomes. Nevertheless, the book's organization is clear, the illustrations are realistic and more colorful than ever, and the range maps are easy to understand. The descriptions are excellent and the book covers some vagrants that Collins' Bird Guide misses. Each species is beautifully illustrated in colour in its characteristic habitat with identification tips and background notes. The color of the plates was reproduced poorly and the illustrations were not detailed enough to be useful for tricky identifications.
